Data being collected prospectively on a proforma after a written consent and is later transfer to SPSS 16.0 for analysis.
RESULTS: One hundred six patient, 79 (74.52%) males and 27 (25.47%) females with a mean age of 25 years (average 15-60 year) had loop ileostomies constructed during the study period. Twelve patients (11.37%) had complications arising from ileostomies construction, including 6 (5.6%) suffers parastomal irritation / infection / excoriation of skin. Two patients (1.83%) had stomal retraction, two patients (1.83%) had small bowel obstruction and one patient each had ileostomy prolapse (0.93%) and ileostomy diarrhea (0.93%). Two patients with ileostomy retraction and one patient with small bowl obstruction required surgical intervention all other complications improved with conservation management.
